    The Tax / Compliance Specialist is a key member of the finance team and will be an integral part of ensuring JAGGAER’s compliance with numerous governmental and corporate requirements.  This role will be responsible for the day-to-day activities required to remain compliant with various taxes, annual reports, surveys, transfer pricing, corporate insurance, and other compliance matters.  The Tax / Compliance Specialist is also responsible for performing research and analysis on issues that arise in the performance of these duties, responding to inquiries, and other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

    Principal Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to:

    • Creating and maintaining compliance calendar
    • Clearly, concisely, timely, and accurately reporting significant upcoming deadlines to the CFO, VP Finance, and other Finance Team members and third parties involved with each submission ensuring more than enough time to perform any actions necessary
    • Working with outside tax preparers on all income and franchise taxes
    • Tracking filings, payments, and refunds
    • Investigating notices, inquiries, and refunds that differ from filings and resolving issues
    • Reviewing Avalara sales tax calculations and submissions
    • Preparing and filing Canada GST/HST returns
    • Reviewing VAT filings
    • Preparing and filing property tax returns
    • Working with CSC on annual reports
    • Responding to mandatory governmental surveys
    • Working with CrossBorder Solutions and JAGGAER employees around the world on transfer pricing documentation, planning, and strategy
    • Assisting with Corporate insurance – COIs for customers and annual renewal
    • Documenting processes and templates to improve efficiency and effectiveness

    Position Requirements

    • B.A. in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field
    • Minimum of 2 years of corporate or public tax experience, CPA or CPA candidate preferred
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Familiarity with Avalara preferred
    • Proficiency in tax research
    • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to take ownership of areas of responsibility and drive improvements in efficiency and effectiveness
