    The Contractor - Sr. Systems Engineer (End User Computing) is responsible for engineering, managing, supporting and providing improvements to all aspects of our end user client solutions for a globally dispersed workforce.  The position is responsible for establishing and maintaining the systems, tools, policies, and processes required to build, secure and manage workstations and end point services to end user devices across the enterprise. Duties focus on defining standards, deployment methods, supported configurations for IT provisioned desktop/laptop systems using Windows and Mac Operating systems as well as end user devices following JAGGAER IT policy.  This includes hardware certification, OS builds and engineering, and base application management, amongst other duties. 

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Building, testing and qualifying all desktop/laptop configurations and images including end point management software and updates in accordance with all compliancy and audit requirements
    • SME for end user computing technology and end point management tools (anti-virus, anti-malware, patching, inventory, etc)
    • SME for workstation security posture and protection of end point devices
    • SME for Windows OS including Windows 10
    • Participate in the Incident Response Process for end user incidents (virus, malware, etc)
    • Provide 3rd level support for end user workstation issues
    • Participate in future architecture solutions and implement life cycle maintenance processes
    • Strong understanding of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles
    • Assist in capacity planning, performance monitoring and maintenance to ensure high availability for workstation / end user management applications / tools.
    • Close working relationship with infrastructure and application administration teams
    • Follow best practices for the supported technology
    • Must abide by change process, support and request queue
    • Able to work weekends, shift and on-call if necessary.

    Position Requirements

    • Strong understanding of end user computing technology and strategy
    • Strong experience in Windows OS including Windows 10; experience with Macs in a corporate environment preferred; Linux desktop management experience desirable
    • Strong experience and knowledge of tools that manage the distributed desktop environment including, platform OS updates, security updates, Group Policy updates, Security deployment protecting our resources from virus, malware and hacking, updates to antivirus and protective measures to ensure the availability and integrity of the workstation environment.
    • Experience developing automation solutions using scripting techniques (PowerShell, Bash)
    • Experience with Microsoft O365 and the “Modern Desktop” including email, Sharepoint, One Drive and other Microsoft productivity applications.
    • Understanding of Enterprise Mobility Management solutions for mobile device management, contextual authentication, and data loss protection preferred
    • Ability to coordinate support efforts across a regionally disperse user base.
    • Maintain excellent communications with the IT Manager on all tasks and projects.
    • Assist in the development, maintenance and enforcement of corporate standards across the company.
    • Ability to work successfully with others in large and small teams.
    • Assertiveness - Assist in troubleshooting incidents until root cause resolutions
    • Bachelors degree in Computer Science preferred and 5+ years’ work experience in the areas of end user computing or workstation engineering.
    • Goal oriented and highly ethical
    • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to transform technical knowledge into business language (e.g. reports, presentations, etc.)
    • Self-starter; able to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent time management: ability to prioritize queue, project, and other assignments;
    • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
