    The Tax / Compliance Coordinator is a key member of the finance team and will be an integral part of ensuring JAGGAER’s compliance with numerous governmental and corporate requirements.  This role will be responsible for the day-to-day activities required to remain compliant with various taxes, annual reports, surveys, transfer pricing, corporate insurance, and other compliance matters.  The Tax / Compliance Coordinator is also responsible for performing research and analysis on issues that arise in the performance of these duties, responding to inquiries, and other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

    Principal Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to:

    • Create and maintain compliance calendar
    • Facilitates government regulatory filing requirements, including sales and property tax, other tax compliance, and tax account reconciliations.
    • Clearly, concisely, timely, and accurately reporting significant upcoming deadlines to the CFO, Finance Manager, and other Finance Team members and third parties involved with each submission ensuring more than enough time to perform any actions necessary
    • Work with outside tax preparers on all income and franchise taxes
    • Track filings, payments, and refunds
    • Investigate notices, inquiries, and refunds that differ from filings and resolve issues
    • Review Avalara sales tax calculations and submissions
    • Prepare and file Canada GST/HST returns
    • Review VAT filings
    • Prepare and file property tax returns
    • Work with CSC on annual reports
    • Respond to mandatory governmental surveys
    • Support transfer pricing process, including documentation and planning
    • Assist with Corporate insurance – COIs for customers and annual renewal
    • Support treasury and other accounting/finance projects and initiates
    • Document processes and templates to improve efficiency and effectiveness


    Position Requirements

    • B.A. in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field preferred
    • Tax or Accounting experience strongly preferred
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Familiarity with Avalara is a plus
    • Ability to perform tax research
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Must exhibit patience and a positive attitude and be able to work independently
    • Ability to take ownership of areas of responsibility and drive improvements in efficiency and effectiveness
